Why? because they use the most tasty Sichuan peppercorn.
What is Sichuan peppercorn? Despite the name , there is no similarity in black pepper nor any chili peppers. It is widely used in the cuisine of Sichuan, China. It has slight lemony overtones and creates a tingly numbness in the mouth. (source Wikipedia)
If you have never tried SiChuan food, it's very difficult to imagine what the taste is like. I brought my family from Thailand to try out this place and they fell in love with SiChuan food. Due to food restrictions this time, we couldn't eat anything with beef. I will recommend few beef dishes at the end of this article.
Rule of thumb in Chinese restaurant, most dish served in cold are entrees.
Also, don't forget to mention if you can't eat too spicy when you are ordering. The restaurant might be able to make it more eatable for you.
First Stop, boiled Chicken fillet and mushroom with special chili sauce (served cold)
Green bean noodle with sour and spicy sauce (served cold)
This is originated from street food. Nearly all the small road side food stalls have their own version of this dish. It is very smooth and refreshing.
Main: 沸腾鱼 Hot Pot Fish
When this dish came, it's still boiling and the fish meat is so soft. definitely a must try dish.
Main: 辣子鸡 Chili Chicken
Don't be scared of this dish (deep fried marinated chicken buried in dry chilies), although it is vvvvvery spicy.
Main: 孜然羊肉 Cumin Lamb
There are few other dishes are highly recommend
