I think it's a fair statement to say, for nearly every Chinese, first thing they learn in cooking is fried rice. There'e so many different version. I just quickly demonstrate what ingredients are at home.
Cooking time: 25 minutes
Serving: 8 person
What do you need?
- 2.5 cup of rice (preferred to be Thai Jasmine Rice)
- 3 eggs
- seasonal veggie (beans)
- one onion
- one clove of garlic
- few beef balls
- light soy sauce
Please note, you can increase or reduce the amount as you wish.
1. First thing you need to get it right is how to cook perfect rice.
Normally the rice cooker with come with a measurement cup.
Rule of thumb, 2.5 cups of rice mixed with 3 cups of water. This ratio should give you perfect rice. For today, I want to serve dinner faster than usual, I used boiled water instead cold water. This will speed up the process.
Ideally, you need slightly moist rice than soggy rice for this dish.
Within 10-15 minutes, my rice is ready.
2. Add one heap spoon of soy sauce in the egg, beat the egg, then add oil to the pan and pan fried it.
After it's done, cut eggs to small pieces and prepare for later. (size and shape doesn't matter)
3. cut the beef ball to small pieces
4. Dice the bean, onion and garlic, chili (optional)
5. Add generous amount of oil in the pan, and pinch of salt, then, throw diced onion, bean, chili in the pan and stir till it's cooked.
6. Add all the rice in the mix. stir until rice well mixed with other ingredients, add 2 heap spoons of light soy sauce.
7. Lastly, add prepared fried eggs and mix with rice.
8. Check the taste before serve, add more soy sauce if needed.
